The Week of Celebration will take place from January 19 – 23, 2026.
All undergraduate, graduate, and professional UNC students are eligible to apply.
Expectations:
This is a volunteer opportunity that requires dedication and a passion for continuing the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Carolina’s campus.
Meetings: All committee members will be required to attend bi-weekly meetings, starting Oct. 2025 – Jan. 2026. You may miss up to one meeting. Any additional absences must be approved.
The first meeting will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 1, from 5 to 6:30 PM (in person).
Responsibilities:
- Design and distribute marketing and promotional materials (flyers, social media posts, emails)
- Gain experience managing event budget, supplies, logistics, and operations
- Collaborate with campus departments and student organizations to ensure events are engaging and representative of the campus community
- Recruit volunteers and serve as a point of contact for event support
