Daniel Sims
Daniel received his B.S. in Public Health Studies, with a focus on Health Promotion and Education, from East Carolina University. Previously, with Wake County Health and Human Services, Daniel worked directly with the County’s Drug Overdose Prevention Initiative, which helped him become the ally he is today. Substance Use Disorders (SUD) are chronic diseases that should be diagnosed and treated as such. His professional areas of interest include eliminating stigma surrounding Substance Use Disorders and Mental Health, recovery, education around medication storage/disposal, and helping others to live safe, wholesome lives.
In his free time, he enjoys hitting the golf links, testing his cardiovascular limits at MADabolic, traveling, being with friends and family, as well as enjoying the wonderful greenways near his home.
