One Act for Greeks: 3 Hour Skills Training

In Spring 2013, a three-hour One Act for Greeks curriculum was piloted with one IFC fraternity and representatives from several organizations of the Greek Alliance Council. One Act for Greeks discusses bystander intervention for preventing sexual assault and high-risk drinking.

Additional organizations trained new members and some members of their Executive Boards during the 2013-2014 academic year, including leaders of the 2013 and 2014 InterFraternity Councils and Greek Judicial Boards.  New members from IFC fraternities were trained in October and November 2013, and February, March 2014, and April 2014.  2014 Panhellenic Association leaders and members of one Panhellenic sorority were trained in February 2014, and five organizations of the Greek Alliance Council were trained in March 2014.

One Act for Greeks is a collaboration between Student Wellness and the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life and Community Involvement. Several organizations affiliated with the Office of Fraternity & Sorority life and Community Involvement, as described in this article, have trained their members since One Act began.  The curriculum was developed under a grant in 2012-2013 through the UNC Parent's Council
