Free B.A.R.S. (Be A Responsible Server) training in the Chapel Hill Court House / Post Office (179 E. Franklin St), which includes Raise the Bar.
This training will be led by Mike Mineer, ALE Investigator/Drug Recognition Expert of the Chapel Hill Police Department and Kelli Raker, Coordinator for Violence Prevention Programs at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The purpose of the BARS training is to familiarize new and veteran employees of ABC outlets with alcohol laws and regulations. This training will specifically deal with sales to underage, fraudulent identifications, sales to intoxicated persons and general ABC laws and regulations. In addition to knowing alcohol laws, the training will give you tools to recognize and intervene when you see warning signs of alcohol or drug facilitated sexual assault.
The training is free of charge and you do not have to register before the class.
All owners, managers, or staff of licensed ABC outlets in Chapel Hill or Carrboro are encouraged to attend, and we also welcome any and all community members!
