Mikaela Freundlich
Program Assistant

Mikaela is a Program Assistant at Student Wellness, where she is involved in BASICS and Alcohol 101 facilitation as well as outreach, assessment and evaluation for a variety of programs, including the UNC Men’s Project and DICE (Diversity and Inclusiveness in Collegiate Environments). Although she was born in the U.S., Mikaela grew up in the Basque Country of Spain and lived there up until she graduated high school. She then went on to pursue her undergraduate degree in Biology at Denison University, from which she graduated in 2014. Mikaela is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health degree in Maternal and Child Health at UNC. She is passionate about health equity and is interested in integrating feminist theories into public health research and practice. In her spare time, Mikaela enjoys playing and watching basketball—particularly women’s basketball.
